The very first dissection we did in marine bio this year was an earth worm. There wasn't too much to look at but since it was the first dissection it was kind of exciting. The earth worm has basically all of its organs in one place. We also had the elementary come in and we had to talk to them about it and my partner and I had them help is pin parts of the worm. They seemed very interested in the dissection. We quizzed them with basic questions like the order of the organs. I was very impressed on how they remembered the names of the organs and the order.

The clam was the second and toughest dissection. It was literally the toughest due to the fact that the shell was hard to open. I managed to get mine opened and help others to get theirs opened. There was a lot of dirt surrounding the organs so we had to rinse it out with water for better viewing. It was cool to see the different organs but there wasn't much to do. Everything was placed in a way that it could be easily found.

The squid was the last and best dissection in my opinion. To see and do everything we had to, we had to go through a longer process. There was a lot of similarities from the squid except for the shell.
