the ocean sunfish or the mola mola is a very unique deep sea creature.mola in latin means milestone .they live in about 30-480 meters below sea level but usally 30-70 meters in the medditerean sea, alantic, indiania, pacific ocean were thay can be found. they live in the pelagic part of the sea which is open ocean and also in the benthic and abyssal zones.the eat jellyfish, squid, fish, seaweed, flounder, mollusks, brittle stars and other zooplankton. if you are out in the water and you see a sunfish lying on its side in the ocean its probaly because thier probolay going on a deep sea dive for their preyjellyfish. they also might do so they can re heat and aid digestion or recharge their oxygen stores . the intresting fact is tht than go up to 10ft of water so they can jump out and get parasites off of themselves and they also lay on their side in the ocean so sea birds can come and eat the parasites off of them and also so the fish can eat the other parasites on the bottom . the biggest sunish recorded is 14ft vertically and 10ft horizontally and weighed 5,000lbs and their also known as t
.Advice Whales' page talked about frilled sharks as well. They are known as sea
monsters with many myths as well www.fishonfish.weebly.com : Rorys Blog Creature: Angler Fish 2 Facts:Their size is up to 2 meters and live up to 20 years or longer. www.fishyinfo.weebly.com:Mercedes Blog Creature:Pelican Eel 2 Facts: 500- 3000 meters below sea level and can live up to 55 years www.internationalfishtank.webley.com: Kelcies Blog Creature: Frilled Shark 2 Facts: Found in South Africa and spting forward at their prey to eat them in one bite the first quater was really intresting and that i learned alot about the maarine bio clas. we started the quater off by deciding what tank you and a couple of other people wanted to do for the year. my group and i waited 3 weeks for our saltwater tank so we can set it up for the marine fish we were going to have in the tank. after a couple of weeks into september we had to make a model of the ocean floor out of flour water and salt which a made a play-doh like texture for us to use to make the model.after we finished making the model of the ocean sea floor we went next door to the elementary school to present to a fifth grade class and teach them about the ocean floor. the class then moved on to current and tides where we had to find out how the tides and currents are formed by the way the moon is positoned on the earth to make the waves and currents. we then did a salinty lab where we had warm, cold water, food coloring, salt. the point of the lab was to see what would happen to the the food coloring would if settle to the bottom or we would use then more than one color and see which one was the most dense and which ones were not so dense. we then moved on to the deep sea were we learned about the deep sea creatures that inhabit those waters and the life zones which these creatures live in and lifestyles the creatures are. then we clean and make sure our fish tanks are clean and are able to have marine life live in them so we can get a grade on it for the quater then we are having a finiding nemo party next week
In class we learned about waves and tides. A wave is a rhythmic movement that
carries energy through matter or space. Idividual molecules move up and down and causes the waves. Tides deppend on waves. The rise and fall is called a tide and its caused by giant waves i would love to pursue my carrer as a wildlife biologist in the field of ichthyologists which means studys fish. the reason being that i would have to take many science classes in order to do this job so i can be dedacted to this job and get a good education and also cause i love the water and the fish that inhabit it.
i thought everyones website was very intresting i really liked the one of the wildlife technican because your helping diffrent animals and not just one. everyones was good some of them the same but they were good about talking about their jobs
